Small Town Remedies

Writer, director, and producer, R.W. Perkins of the future feature film Small Town Remedies, talks about working with his Co-producers, Andy Carrasco, Andrea Woodley Dratch, and Lea Marlene.

Small Town Remedies is a dramatic comedy about siblings, Lita and Evan, who are forced to put their troubled personal lives on hold to help their alcoholic mother through a relapse. Eventually, Lita and Evan are compelled to deal with their own possible addictions, as this emotional tale of a family coming to grips with their substance abuse issues will leave you laughing and crying, often at the same time.

R.W. Perkins

R.W. Perkins is a writer, filmmaker, and digital marketing director living and working in Loveland, CO. Currently, you can see Perkins’ short films featured on the Atticus Review, His short film, Visions of Snow, will screen at the ZEBRA Poetry Film Festival in Berlin, Germany, in September 2018. Perkins’ films have been featured at film festivals all over the world, including an 18-state tour with the New Belgium Brewery Clips Beer & Film Tour, and his short subject film The Big Waitwas selected as a top 20 finalist in Canon and Ron Howard’s Project Imagination nationwide film competition. In 2015 he wrote and directed his first feature film,  Crash & Burn Stories and he has just finished his second feature screenplay, Small Town Remedies. Andy Carrasco

Andy Carrasco is a cinematographer and editor who has been working in the Fort Collins area for eight years. He is the owner-operator of SC Films, and his cinematic style has been featured in web and broadcast productions all over the Colorado area, including his signature wedding films. In 2015 Andy co-produced and worked as Director of Photography on a Colorado feature film, Crash and Burn Stories. Other notable works include two short films, The Big Wait and Small Talk and Little Else.

Lea Marlene

Lea Marlene is the Artistic Director and Founder of Lea Marlene Actors Studio and The Namastage Theatre located in Denver, CO. She specializes in the Meisner Technique, a two year conservatory style training that gets actors out of their heads and into their hearts so they may be connected, compelling and authentic. She has produced and directed several shows, play productions, stand up comedy, film and theatre both in Denver and Los Angeles. She loves teaching because she has a keen eye for talent and she knows how to help actors live truthfully on stage and on camera. She is excited to be on the Small Town Remedies production team as well as on the casting side of this film because she feels it is a project about real people, real dysfunction, real issues and a whole lot of heart. She believes those key ingredients make for pure movie magic.

Andrea Woodley-Dratch

Andrea Woodley Dratch is an alum of the American Academy of Dramatic Arts (AADA) New York City. She is best known for playing Minnie Edwards in Crash & Burn Stories, a feature film released in 2016.  She is a spokesperson and can be seen and heard doing commercial/voice-over work for a prominent Colorado company. Other notable performances include her role as Yvette Pottier in Mother Courage and Her Children (Fort Collins, CO) and Charlotte in Female Transport (New York, NY).  Andrea received her A.O.S. at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City. When she’s away from the stage or not in front of the camera, Andrea enjoys tap dance, interior design, yoga, movies, spending time with friends and family but most of all being a wife and mother to three little boys.  Andrea is thrilled to be on the Small Town Remedies production team. She knows this story will do more than entertain, it will move you to your core.
